Trade Compliance Service for Importing E-Commerce Products in Egypt

Every consignment entering Egypt needs an importer registered with the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) and an ACID number filed in advance through Nafeza. Egypt IOR manages the full path for you, covering classification, registration, duty handling, and customs clearance, so your orders reach Egyptian customers without a hold at the border.

Why E-Commerce Imports Require Specialist Trade Compliance

E-commerce moves differently from industrial freight. Volumes are high, SKU counts run into the hundreds, delivery windows are short, and the person receiving the parcel is a retail customer who did not agree to pay anything at the door. A compliant e-commerce import into Egypt runs across five stages.

HS classification

Every SKU carries its own classification, and that code sets the duty rate. With large or mixed catalogs, getting classification right at the point of listing is what makes import duties and tariffs predictable rather than a surprise on arrival.

Duties, VAT and DDP

Duty and VAT can be settled before delivery rather than collected from your customer. This is the difference between a parcel that arrives and one that gets refused at the door.

GOEIC and import requirements

Goods must arrive against a registered importer, and certain product categories carry additional conformity requirements. We coordinate documentation alongside GOEIC requirements so shipments are prepared before arrival rather than after.

Nafeza and ACID

Advance Cargo Information must be filed through Nafeza before departure, and the resulting ACID number travels with the shipment. Consignments arriving without one are not accepted for clearance.

Customs clearance

Once documentation and duty are in order, clearance and release follow.

Compliance we handle for this industry

E-commerce clears under a simplified procedure, but the underlying requirements do not disappear with parcel size. Here is exactly what applies.

Specific to e-commerce and courier consignments

Express Clearance under Nafeza

Egyptian Customs Authority / Nafeza. A simplified courier procedure for qualifying low-value parcels.
Commercial-quantity consignments still require the Importers Register, a Certificate of Conformity, and any sector approval that applies to the goods inside.

Required for every commercial import

These apply regardless of channel or parcel size. Express clearance simplifies the procedure, not the obligations behind it.

Importers Register

General Organization for Export & Import Control (GOEIC). Baseline enrolment required for any entity importing into Egypt for trade.

Certificate of Origin

Origin-country Chamber of Commerce, legalized for Egypt. Establishes origin for tariff, trade-agreement preference under GAFTA, Agadir, EU–Egypt, and COMESA, and admissibility.

Foreign Factory / Brand Registration

GOEIC and the Ministry of Trade & Industry. Known as Decree 43/2016. The overseas factory or brand owner must be pre-registered before covered consumer goods are admissible.
This is the single most common reason a first consumer-goods shipment is stopped, and it is a prerequisite rather than a parallel step.

Advance Cargo Information / ACID number

Nafeza National Single Window, via the Egyptian Customs Authority. Mandatory advance registration before loading for commercial consignments.
Without an ACID number, cargo cannot be discharged or cleared, and documents are exchanged through the CargoX platform.

Customs Classification & Valuation

Egyptian Customs Authority, under Customs Law 207/2020. HS-based tariff classification, transaction-value valuation, duty and VAT assessment.
This is the main lever on landed cost, and two items in the same order can be treated differently.

Certificate of Conformity (CoC)

GOEIC, applying Egyptian Organization for Standardization & Quality (EOS) standards. Confirms goods meet applicable Egyptian technical standards prior to customs release.
Scope depends on HS classification, which for a mixed catalog means it varies SKU by SKU.

EUR.1 Movement Certificate

Origin-country customs or chamber of commerce, under the EU–Egypt and EFTA–Egypt Association Agreements.
The preferential proof-of-origin document used to claim reduced or zero duty on qualifying goods.

Check your catalog before you list

Pick a product and its features, and the finder stacks every applicable requirement, including the ones a single category never shows.

Why Choose Egypt IOR for E-Commerce Trade Compliance?

Egyptian market expertise

Global compliance providers spread across dozens of markets. We work in one. Our specialists handle Egyptian customs procedures, GOEIC requirements, and Nafeza filings every day, which is what turns a classification query into a same-day answer.

Duty-paid delivery, no surprise fees

Under DDP delivery service, duties and taxes are settled before the parcel reaches your customer. Nothing is collected at the door, which protects your conversion rate, your reviews, and your refused-delivery rate. Read how DDP shipping works.

Fast clearance and clear landed cost

E-commerce runs on speed and predictable margin. We reduce the risk of holds, delays, and demurrage, and give you duty and landed cost visibility before you list rather than after you ship.

One coordinated compliance workflow

Instead of managing separate providers for classification, filing, clearance, and returns, you work with one specialist team coordinating importer of record services and everything downstream of them.

Built for volume, returns, and growing sellers

High shipment counts, mixed catalogs, and a steady return flow are normal in e-commerce, not exceptions. We support reverse logistics for returns and RMA handling, and we work with small sellers testing the Egyptian market as readily as with established brands.

Helping reduce compliance risk

Delays usually trace back to an incorrect classification, a missing ACID number, or a restricted item nobody flagged. We review requirements before goods move, so you can prepare for the obligations that apply to your catalog rather than discover them at the port.

Registration with GOEIC is confirmed, or Egypt IOR acts as importer of record where you have no Egyptian entity.

III

HS Classification

Every product gets a verified HS code, which sets the duty rate and flags any additional permits.

Advance filing

The Nafeza (ACI) submission is made, and the ACID number is issued before the shipment departs.

Duties and VAT are settled, inspection is completed, and the consignment is released.
